Kinnon Hostel is located in the Silom district in the heart of Bangkok, being just a 5 minute walk from Patpong Night Market and BTS station making it easy to get anywhere within the city. The hostel is located down a quiet lane which makes it an ideal place to stay for those who want a good night sleep away from the noise of the city. The accommodation also doubles as a co-working space so if like me you need to get some work done they have super fast internet to help you through it - and you'll also be able to meet a few other digital nomads along the way!
During our stay we slept in a 16 bed dorm, with spacious bunk beds that all included individual built in storage solutions, a personal light, two plug sockets, thick duvets and not one, but two large fluffy pillows which made it feel like you were resting on marshmallows. The dorm room itself is laid out as 4 bunk beds on each side of a main wall, so it's more like staying in an 8 bed dorm as they're separated - Although, once you sink into the comfortable mattress and close your thick curtain you'll forget you are staying in a dorm at all.
Each floor has a toilet/shower room but are separate for men and women. They are spotless, and the waterfall showers are lovely and warm with shampoo, conditioner and body wash included in your room price. The shower rooms also include large, well lit mirrors - along with built in hair driers so you can get ready in peace too.
The breakfast is probably one of the best we've had so far on our trip. Every morning you can help yourself to a free buffet breakfast. This includes fresh coffee and tea, cereal, toast, sandwiches, cold meats and more! There's also a snack back with Thai style cookies and crackers available throughout the day for free too.
In addition to serving breakfast - the hostel also includes a restaurant on the ground floor where you can enjoy freshly made food and drinks in the stylish common area - or even take it upstairs to their clean, modern roof top bar!
If all of that isn't reason enough to make you want to stay at Kinnon Hostel, the staff were second to none. The girls had smiles on their faces from dusk to dawn and loved to practice their English with us (which is at a very high standard already) Every day they would recommend places for us to see and do - and at night they gave us information about places to eat and drink which were safe and offered the best experience for travelers. They went above and beyond on our second night - I had food poisoning from some food at the market - the girls constantly checked on me to make sure I was okay and even gave me vitamin drinks and charcoal tablets to help remove any toxins. I was back to my normal self by the time I left for Chiang Mai thanks to them!
